Jawan Sports Gala from Dec 06-09, 2021.
The Opening ceremony of the event is scheduled on Dec 06, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Jinnah Stadium Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad.
Virtual University of Pakistan will fully participate in the event with its student from across the country.
Any student who has taken part in any sports activity at college/university/district/national level can register in the event. Preference will be given to those students who have won the prizes in those activities.
We will inform the selected students by Nov 29, 2021 and further details will be provided.

After the regional event, trials will be conducted to select the Regional Team for National Level event which will be held during March 2020 at Lahore.

Trekking competition at Trail # 5 (Sector F-5 to Pir Sohawa Road, Islamabad) will be held on October 20, 2018 as part of Students Week 2018. This track is approximately 6.8 km long.
Registration is compulsory for the event.
Participation will be on first come-first serve basis since number of participants is limited that is 150.
The decision of Judges would be final and cannot be challenged.
Participants are required to present original VU-ID Card & CNIC before the competition starts.
The participants may visit the Track one day before the competition for instructions and familiarization at 10:00 AM (optional).

Decorum:
1. The contents of the competitions must not contain any slang, abusive or inappropriate language
2. There must be no offensive slogan and remarks of any sort against political party, personality, sect etc.
3. Violation of any of the defined rules may result in disqualification and disciplinary action
Instructions:
The participants are instructed to follow the guidelines given under;
1. The participant must be medically fit to take part in hiking activity.
2. The individuals having backbone problem, abnormal breathing especially at height or in low oxygen atmosphere or having acrophobia (fear of height) should not participate.
3. Must carry back pack (small bag tied to back) with a water bottle and light eatables.
4. Do not carry extra baggage with you.
5. Use proper footwear for hiking that can be boots with non-slippery soles to help you to maintain your body balance.
On Hiking Track
1. Follow the instruction given on the trail especially follow the direction indications.
2. Do not leave the trail and if you lost the track, stop for a while and determine your location.
3. Maintain the right posture while climbing.
4. Drink water gradually in case of extra sweating.
5. Do not smoke and litter on the track to save the natural environment.
6. Do not put on fire on track or in surroundings.
Transport, Boarding and Lodging
1. The participants have to make their own arrangements for travelling, boarding & lodging
2. Transportation will be provided only from the end point of the track to the starting point of track.

Under the umbrella of IT-Club, Virtual University of Pakistan brings for students an interesting programming challenge to test their coding skills. Students will be tested to write an effective, elegant code in competition with other fellow student programmers in limited time.
Brief description of the competition is given below:
• You'll be given detailed description of small programming task and you'll have to code it to produce the desired output in limited time (02 hours).
• Dev-C++ 5.11 for C++, Java SDK / NetBeans IDE 8.0.1 and Visual Studio 2010 for c# should be installed on computers to participate in the competition.

Guidelines for Students
• Students only having qualified for this competition event shall be allowed to participate.
• Students will participate as an individual.
• Students have to visit any of the designated regional campus in order to participate in the competition.
• Students shall arrive at designated regional campus till 09:45AM as the competition will begin at 10:00AM sharp.
• No internet access will be allowed during competition.
• Students shall follow all good programming practices e.g. naming convention, indentation, commenting etc.
• The task is not technically complex but you need to focus on efficiency with minimum lines of code to get better score.
Awards
Participation certificate will be given for qualified student(s) by campus management and shields for winner students (First two position holders). Award Ceremony date/ result announcement date will be announced by campus manager after the competition. Signed attendance sheets of participants shall also be sent to IT-Club at it-club@vu.edu.pk. Graphic Designing Competition 2020
Under the umbrella of IT-Club, Virtual University brings for our students an interesting designing challenge to test their creative skills. Students will be tested to create an elegant, evolutionary and self-explanatory design in competition with other fellow student in limited time slot.
Brief description of the competition is given below:
• You'll be given a scenario having a description of designing task (it can be a logo / poster design/ any character design) and you'll have to design it accordingly in limited time (02 hours).
• Software allowed: Adobe Photoshop (CS4) /Adobe Illustrator (CC) version 14.

Android Mobile App Competition Student Week 2020
As smartphone industry is increasing day by day, lots of developers are attracted towards mobile application development. Virtual University of Pakistan feels the need of introducing a competition, targeted at the mobile application development. Under the umbrella of IT-Club, Virtual University of Pakistan brings for our Students a healthy competition to test their Application development skills. Where, students can show their native android app development skills.
RCM of each region will decide about the campus for competition and announce it properly to students.
Campus administration is requested to facilitate in the following:
Guidelines for Campus Administration:
• Android studio IDE version 2.2.3 will be used for developing android app.
• Only registered student(s) shall be allowed to participate in the competition.
• To ensure that NO Internet access shall be allowed during the competition.
• To ensure time observation for competition i.e. to start competition on 10:00 AM.
• Time to complete task is 2-3 hours.
• Participation certificate for qualified student(s).
• Shields for winning students (First and Second Position Holder).
• The theme/task will be told to administration 60 minutes before the competition starts.
• Students will participate as individual or as Team consisting maximum 1 member.
• Make sure Screen recording software like Camtasia is installed on student’s laptop for evaluation.
• Student must submit complete project code in zipped file to the campus manager.
• Campus Manager will send the zipped folder to it-club@vu.edu.pk of each student after the competition in the same day maximum after 2 hours.
Submission Guidelines:
Each student must submit the complete project folder in zipped format along with video file covering the complete code video and design output, each and every screen. File names should be the student ID with student name. The campus managers should collect all files from students and will send to IT club at it-club@vu.edu.pk .
Post Contest:
The event organizers shall send the required students submission of competition via email at it-club@vu.edu.pk for evaluation by judges. Signed attendance sheets of participants shall also be sent to IT-Club at it-club@vu.edu.pk. Winner names from each region will be published on “VU Society Page”.

Under the umbrella of IT-Club, Virtual University brings for our students an interesting E-Gaming Contest to test their gaming skills. Students will be tested to play Call of Duty Game on LAN in competition with other fellow student gamers in limited time.
Campus administration is requested to facilitate in the following:
Guidelines for Campus Administration
• Only registered student(s) shall be allowed to participate in the competition.
• Campus managers ensure the version of game installed on each computer (Call of Duty 4– Modern Warfare version 1.1).
• Systems allocated to students shall have at least 4 GB RAM and Core i series processors.
• There will be 5 students team and total number of teams will be 6 maximum.
• To ensure time observation for competition i.e. to start competition on 10:00AM.
• Arrange Judge(s) for evaluation.
• Participation certificate for qualified student(s).
Post Contest
The event organizers shall announce the winners of the competition at their regional level. After awards ceremony, the list of all participating and successful teams along with signed evaluations sheets shall be sent to IT-Club organizer it-club@vu.edu.pk for onward publishing on “VU Society Page”.

E-Gaming- (Need For Speed) 2020
Under the umbrella of IT-Club, Virtual University brings for our students an interesting E-Gaming Contest to test their gaming skills. Students will be tested to play Need For Speed Game in competition with other fellow student gamers in limited time.
Campus administration is requested to facilitate in the following:
Guidelines for Campus Administration
• Only registered student(s) shall be allowed to participate in the competition.
• Campus managers ensure the version of game installed on each computer (Need For Speed Version available in VU repository).
• Systems allocated to students shall have at least 4 GB RAM and Core i series processors.
• There will be 2 students maximums from one campus.
• To ensure time observation for competition i.e. to start competition on 10:00AM.
• Arrange Judge(s) for evaluation.
• Souvenir for Judge(s)
Post Contest
The event organizers shall announce the winners of the competition at their regional level. After awards ceremony, the list of all participating and successful teams along with signed evaluations sheets shall be sent to IT-Club organizer it-club@vu.edu.pk for onward publishing on “VU Society Page”.

In this competition students can make Poster/Acrylic paintings on the theme “Life with Grand Parents”. It will be Individual student competition. Work will be evaluated on the basis of its originality, creativity and relevance to the theme.
There will be two phases 1) Regional level and 2) National Level. Students qualifying at regional level will be eligible to participate in central event.
